The Texas Lions Camp is expanding their free camping program for children with
with Down Syndrome.
Up to 75 children who have Down Syndrome will have the opportunity to attend camp.

Charis Hills is a Christian Summer Camp for children with ADD, ADHD, High-Functioning
Autism, Asperger's disorder, and other special needs.

All camps will be held at the Blackstock Center located at 700 McPherson Road in Ft. Worth, Texas. These camps will specifically teach two Social Thinking concepts daily. The Social Thinking® model is a developmental and behavioral approach that teaches social behavior, communication, and thinking concepts to individuals challenged in these areas. Students learn the “language” of social reasoning to help them “think” about appropriate social skills in a variety of settings and environments.

11, 2012.
Using scientifically validated techniques and curriculum, the camp will teach life skills,
support educational opportunities, provide on-the-job-training and coaching, create
meaningful jobs, and prepare campers for a step up to the next level of independence.
Come fall, the camp will convert to a group home.
Campers will have the option of staying on as residents in the Fall.
